Coming back from a 2 week long vacation takes a while. And I´m not talking about the travelling. I´m talking about the mindset, the speed of processing things that has got nothing to do with choosing what kind of lunch to eat or where to go for dinner.

I woke up this morning thinking that maybe it was all a dream?

It did feel incredibly good though, to get 35min in the gym lifting heavy weights (deadlifts, squats, overhead squats, presses, cleans and pullups - I was flying!) and sweating it all out. After 14 days on a solid pasta and meat diet, I´m ready to get back into some serious training.

Actually, I crave it.

I used my running gear 4 times whilst away. At 7am in the morning, when the sun still stayed friendly and the temperature landed around 29-30 degrees. Doing no records, but enough to keep my blood circulating and enough to create an appetite...

Answering e-mails and contemplating work stuff now. Off to buy a pair of binoculars before the very spontaneous evening activity, decided only yesterday: PINK in concert.

Intervals and Song of the week

It´s been a laid back day.

Except for some interval training.

I went out for a pleasant jog and ended up doing hill intervals. How the hell did that happen?

I was so tired at the end of the last interval that I thought I was going to faint. Or die. Or both.

On a different note: Song of the week!

Funny, as we were about to take our seats, I receive an sms: "You look good down there on row 2...". Turns out we were not the only toddler parents having called in baby-sitters to be able to go to the cinema this Sunday. Malin & Daniel also bribed theirs, to see "Flickan som lekte med elden".
What P and I got confirmed tonight, was that Robin is not ready to be left for a full day and a night just yet. He cried his way through the afternoon and didn´t stop until we were back, so I just canceled our trip to Stockholm next week. No Maxwell live at Berns, I´m afraid.

I thought about something when I was out on a (very heavy) lunchtime run today. This is a little something for those of you out there in a relationship.
Ask yourself this question: What makes your partner love you?
Make a list and then compare it to the actual answer/s. Does it match? Does it matter if it does? Is it the same qualities that were important when you started dating, or have priorities changed? Is it personality traits or learned skills or both that makes him/her certain that you are the One?

What I put on the list? Well, let´s just say that it didn´t include my cooking skills...

Madonna - You rock!

We got to see the WHOLE Madonna show...

It ROCKED!

I´ve got so frustrated when I´ve read some of the reviews by music journalists and comments that so called "famous" Swedish people has made about M in different newspaper interviews.

a) She gets cut no slack because she is a woman. No one comments negatively on Mick Jagger being sexually explicit, working the microphone stand and wearing tight fitting pants at the grand ol´age of 63! Yes, Madonna plays the sex card now and again (which artist doesn´t?...and excuse me, have you ever been to a hiphop-concert?...), but not even half as much as the press tries to make it out to be. Yes, she wears tight fitting clothes - and she SHOULD! I´m not paying to see a show were the artist wears a tent or something that I could find in the high street shops.

b) Because she is in better shape than (ever?) when she hit the charts in the 80s, she gets thrown comments like "monstrous", "anorexic", and God knows what! I tell you, at 51, she kicks ass! She can keep the pace with dancers half her age and she has worked (and sweated) hard for that reward! It´s her JOB. She has an amazingly fit body. It scares men and make women feel inadequate.

c) "Famous" Swedish people (read women): when you say that Madonna was your childhood STAR and you ADORED her, you DRESSED like her and got so incredibly INSPIRED by her, but then all of a sudden you changed your mind and now you find her ____ (fill in the blank with some negative word). Listen up: It says more about you than her. Jealousy makes people ugly.

AUGUST my LOVE

Sometimes you gotta go with the flow :)

I had ONE day at home and it felt weird. When you're used to being on a schedule with set times and places to be at it is hard to just drop down into spontaneity!

I mean HARD is GOOD - as long as it doesn't make you TIGHT ;)

So that is why I now hang in the smooth feeling of having a balanced, fun, Scandinavian month ahead of me :)

It is gonna be a month of JIRA work layered with this (imagine a pancake cake - pancake/cream/jam/pancake/cream/jam.... )

...everyone who has a ticket for U2´s 360 tour on Saturday in Gothenburg.
I was there tonight, saw about 6 songs (and then we had to rush home to Robin) and it was spectacular.
What a show. What a..thing (the claw). And what a party when they do their classic "Sunday bloody Sunday".
Old men rule. At least until Madonna gets to town.

Night owl

MO:

Phew.
After another tough evening with an inconsolable Robin between 20.00-00.30, P and I stayed up until 2.30am packing boxes and putting away the kitchen & bathroom.
Lucky for us, the rest of the night was calm and Robin both ate and slept well (as he normally does, its the beginning of the night that´s difficult).
Funny though, when you wake up for the morning feed and watch his pretty little (well, quite round now, actually) face and look into his dark, beautiful eyes all worries are washed away...

Our move doesn´t happen until Tuesday - it should have happened tomorrow, its a long story - but we only stay in the apartment until Monday (a separate story). Tomorrow the new tenant is moving in his things into our old living room, whilst our stuff will be stored in the old bedroom (stuff from 120sqm cramped into 40sqm...).
I hate moving. Meaning, I hate the preparation, the actual move and the unpacking of boxes in the new place. It really stresses me out. Few things do, but moving is one of them...

Depending on what kind of evening Robin will have we might go and see U2 tonight. I´ll let you know tomorrow how the night turned out...

"Putte" must be wondering what the heck is going on this week....

I had my first Braxton Hicks contractions this morning. Not very pleasant. Not painful, but NOT pleasant. (Braxton Hicks contractions are "mock-contractions" which do NOT lead to delivery of the baby..). The belly went harder than a Champions League football and the pressure on the pelvic floor was enough to move a 5-ton truck. Or something.

My body is getting prepared...


JO and I had a look at the Matthew Williamson-collection at H&M. I love his look-strong colours and patterns-beautiful for summer! But also different enough to really stand out, which means that anywhere you go this summer, you will end up wearing the same skirt, tunic, bikini like several other women at the beach, restaurant, club, etc.


I´ll save some money to spend on the new maxomorra-collection instead. Lovely, colourful children´s wear, ohhhh, "Putte" will be a well-dressed toddler! :)
