Prezzies all around

MO:
How nice to land at home in one´s kitchen after 4 days away!

And what a lovely surprise:

A beautiful necklace from Dogeared was waiting for me in the post.
Thank you, thank you, thank you JESS!
Although, I do feel BAD. I should be the one sending HER prezzies. You will see why this week.

Some of the things that got to travel back to Gothenburg from the Norweigan "tax-free":

Nail Colour 505 Particulière (I wasn´t too sure about this one at first, I´m a bit sceptical when it comes to beige nail polish...), Lipgloss 144 Glossimer, Nail colour 473 Coromandel

More expensive than in Sweden, but what to do when you need some distraction?
Also, I AM addicted to Chanel´s nail polishes and lipglosses...

The Price of Beauty

MO:
I mean REALLY: 2h and 40min for a facial?!
Good GOD, I was stressed out in the end. Also, the new apparatus sending short electrical impulses deep into the skin scared the living daylights out of me, although I have to admit - it worked.
You can watch the result here.

Anyway, I´m struggling to get everything ready for take off tomorrow. Leaving for Trondheim, where I´m working with 3T for 4 days. Back late Sunday afternoon.
Really looking forward to this gig, I´ve worked with this chain a couple of times before and they´re very professional and lots of fun!
Teaching a 4h cycling workshop on Thursday and then I´m off into the sunset teaching 6 classes (yoga, MOJO Yoga & spinning) in 2 days. You might laugh, but last time I was there, I did 11 (or was it 12?) classes in 3 days...

Looking forward to get a chance to hang out with Mango, haven´t seen each other in far too long.
Maybe in between our zillion classes we get to catch up... ;)

Vanity gone wrong

MO:

I love skin products. Even if I have the most incredibly sensitive skin.
I have learned with time that the more a product smells, the less likely I am to be able to wear it.

Also, products that gives "medical results" equals death for my face.
Last time I visited the beautician, we almost had a row. She wanted me to book an appointment for an acid treatment (to "treat" some dark pigmentation that I aquired during pregnancy).
I said no. She said "You should". I said no way. She said it was "necessary". I said NEVER - in a raised voice. She looked perplexed. And then went: "Let´s not argue about it".
I nodded and we dropped the subject.

I´ve tried AHA-acid once before.
It made my face look like I was carrying second degree burns.
I´d rather live with some extra freckles and dark spots any day.

2 products that went in and out of my bathroom cupboard faster than you can say "lotion".
Origins Ginger with a twist: smells gorgeous - gave me a full on rash.
Priori´s facial cleaner: I might as well have used kaustic soda on my face.
Actually no, kaustic soda would probably have been more gentle.

Hairy Stuff

MO:

Check out my baby hairs growing back underneath my "normal" hair!
I lost more than half my hair in the months after I stopped breast feeding. It was a truly disgusting feeling, how each morning I could grab hold of one big hand of hair after another - and just pull it out without any resistance.
All my sympathies go out to girls and women out there, who, for any reason, has lost their hair completely.

If the hair loss brought anything good with it, it was the fact that I finally gathered the guts to cut my very long hair short.
How I fretted this decision!

Why was that so difficult?
Am I that vain?
What could have been the worst thing to happen?

That I would look like a tool bag wearing a helmet?
That no one would take me seriously because I´d look like I was carrying a bird´s nest on top of my head?
Did I think my husband would stop loving me and my friends would stop calling me if it turned out awful? Eeerrrr...No.

Isn´t it interesting how we care so much about our appearance and what other people think, even when we would call ourselves grounded with good self-esteem?

...Or is it just human to want to look our best/our most advantageous and therefore also strive for the admiration and love from others, whether it´s for our personality, our actions or for our looks?

What do you think?

Tried and tested: Incoco dry nail polish

MO:

I haven´t had the time to paint my fingernails for about 5 1/2 months, so I was delighted to get to try Incoco (thank you Malin & Daniel!). I´d read about this dry nail polish in various magazines-how it is base, polish and top coat in one "sticker" that you press on to your nail and then: Voilà!
I´d gotten 2 different flavours to try, the French manicure and a fantastically yummy Christmas Red colour. I started with the French manicure... I probably should have checked out the website first (typical MO-mentality: "HOW difficult could it possibly be???"), because after 2 nails I had to throw in the towel (since I had white and nude stickers all over the place and started to have smoke coming out of my nostrils....). But hey, it´s winter! A nice French goes best with a tan and a beautiful summer dress anyway.

"Skam den som ger sig..."
I gave the Christmas Red a chance...and the result was... beautiful!
The photograph unfortunately doesn´t give the colour justice, but nobody would guess that this wasn´t painted on. Also, it was nice to be able to skip the drying process (although the stickers actually smell like proper nail polish!). Highly recommended for the toddler mother! Available in Kicks stores around the country.

MO:

3 material things that brightens up my day at the moment:

My new Nike Court Tradition LT Mid in fuschia

Always a true sign that autumn is near: Chanel Rouge Noir looks awesome on my toenails

Polar´s FT80! A heart rate monitor especially made for strength training. And it looks tastelicious too! This is a must in my kettlebell sessions from now on.

Tan me up

Mo:

Just came back from trying the manual sun-spraying at Mazi.

I´ve tried the sun-spraying-shower-machine-thingie before and almost had a claustrophobic attack - I´ve tried D.I.Y sun-spraying (not a bad result, but even being a yogi - how on earth do you get your back an even colour???) - I´ve gone off sunbeds completely, they give you wrinkles and feel dirty-in a bad way - and finally, it´s too long until I´m able to suntan in the normal sun, given that I´m pregnant (I get discoloured pigmentation just by looking at the sun these days....).

I was recommended Anna, by mutual friends, but since she unfortunately wasn´t working until Thursday and I desperately needed some colour before tomorrow, I booked an appointment with Mieke instead.

She was lovely and took good care of me and my body. I now sport a more golden colour already-(final result to be had within the next couple of hours...)

350 SEK for an instant tan without wrinkles? Yes please!
Comes highly recommended.

Mirror,mirror upon the wall....

Mo:

When I´m travelling I´m always trying to find the time to do a little "mini-spa", like peeling, facials, manicures, pedicures, etc.
Tonight I´m trying Decléors Aroma Sun Hydrating Tinted Self-tanning gel/cream. I think my face is more "tanned" already, but hey-this cream has such a STRONG, overpowering odour that I´m not sure I´ll be able to fall asleep!

I´m always a bit suspicious when it comes to self-tanners - I have this fear of waking up streaky-orange, with no way of getting the fake colour to go away.
Yet, after such a long winter feeling almost see through - what´s a girl got to do? I´m not too fond of sunbeds. They don´t feel too hygenic and they make your skin wrinkle. :)
So, if you have a personal self-tanning favourite, (someone told me that L´oréal´s Sublime Bronze Automatic is supposed to be good?) - that gives a great colour, is odourless and non-sticky, please let me know.
