A Yoginis World

I know I’m a yogi when I look at this and think ‘wow, I bet she does a lot of spinal twists’!!!

The day has been spent shooting pics for THE YOGA GAMES - jihoo I am so excited over this event! So many GREAT teachers coming to Gothenburg JUNE 3-5!!!

And you know what - I'm the girl how just can't get motivated by achieving things like handstand, being able to do bendalloverasanas, lifting heavy things, running a distance in a certain time. Am I not competitive - HELL Yeah I am. But I just don't find it motivating to train for things like that! I do yoga and sports because it makes me feel SO GOOD! That is enough for me :)

AND - this is what I am coming to hihi - Today I managed to do several poses that I for sure couldn't do last year - I haven't practised particularly for them, they just happened today :)

Must mean that my training is spot on!

Cowabunga!

How about you?!

NIKE for Runners for SATS

Sweet morning MOJOs!

After only 3,5 hours sleep I'm up again!

Time to meet my great clients in the yoga studio and after that I'm of to Copenhagen to educate the SATS Crew in the new NIKE class :)

Very excited about it now!
Last time I went for a run (outdoors) was in late October - 17km in very very high mountains.... and heat.... phew!
It's so nice to have been away from something (that you maybe had to much of in the end) and then long for it again :)
Very much my style!

So are you gonna try this class?!

I'll tell you more about it after the training (when I know if they will ROCK it or not ;)

The good, the bad and the crazy

MO:
What a DAY!

It´s been good (work) and bad (traffic jams and SLOW moving traffic all over) and crazy (not enough hours in a day) - all at the same time.

Is it just me, or does everyone seem to have a super-busy time right now?

I LOVE my PT-clients! They are such fab, hardworking people. I can´t wait to welcome them at MyrbergBjörn instead of having them driving all over the city.

It´s starting to come together. The planning of the studio that is.

Next week we´re off to the printers to make invitations, schedules, price lists + the December schedule and stuff.

You´ll be able to come and play 6-23 December for 595SEK ONLY
(or 100SEK/class).
The full December Schedule will soon be revealed.
We want you to check us out in full force before you make the decision to join us come January 2011... :)

Mark Sunday 12 December in your calendars now,
there´ll be an Open house 12.00-16.00 with GLÖGG and PEPPARKAKOR for anyone who wants to stop by, say hello and have a look around.

AWOL - for sure

MO:
Sorry for going AWOL.
It´s been a hectic day and I have been quite unstructured, or at least that´s what it feels like...

Working a bunch of projects at the same time is mostly very rewarding, but now and again you will get to a point where it´s just a tad confusing. You have so many different paths to choose from that you can´t see the road for all the gravel (a saying that I just decided to make up, BTW).

The work pile hardly even moved after a full day´s dedication - not a good feeling.

What WAS good though:

* Seeing darling JO after 2 weeks apart.
* Training my private clients (amazing women!).
* Setting the spring schedule for MyrbergBjörn.
* Picking up Robin from grandma´s and grandpa´s.

Tomorrow´s a new day! :)

Jo's TRAINING!

At the moment is very different from what I usually do!

I invested time and money in a new PT - Which I can recommend to everybody!

If I had AL THE MONEY in the world - A PT would come very high up the list!
Cause just like you know - You need to take GOOD care of yourself in order to take care of others!

MY PT is very HONEST and sometimes honest can be tough to take - But hey that's why I hired and pick THAT PT!!!

So I thought that I would share what I am doing at the moment :)

We found out that my HIP Flexor was really tight and that my hamstrings are LONG - basically I am stretching the front of my legs and strengthening the back - hamstring on a ball works great for me at the moment!

Oh by the way - perhaps you wanna know my training goals :)
- Well - I don't get excited by numbers - FEELINGS excite me! I wanna feel all-round balanced and strong - LONG TERM! Last couple of years I've reached a plateau in my training - especially YOGA since that's what I tend to do most of the time!

I want to break things down and find my weak points - work with them - and the shoot for the moon :) (any way will do!)

As well as strengthening my hamstrings I am also working on connection with my low low abs - there is a centimetre or so where I feel ZERO connection. Sure I can pass by it without you noticing in most exercises but I feel that I am cheating!

Today's plan was legwork - but since my right foot isn't back in shape yet my FAB PT rearranged things and made me do PULL UPS in SO MANY ways!

My Program for the coming week is my "rehab" exercises + the PULL UP work!

Jihaaaaa - I am actually so excited about this kind of ISOLATED training - I've been doing so much "functional, full body" stuff for a long time and I can actually feel these isolated movements paying of already!

So - Summa Kardemumma - It is great to train "functional" - But make sure it is FUNCTIONAL to U!!!

My own clients are on there way and then packing for STHLM GLOBAL YOGA TT this evening!

Train leavs 0600 Friday.... Whoppa

LOVE Jo

Kick my ASS

MO:

What am I doing differently this autumn?
I´m much more stressed and flustered than I usually am at this time of year.
It´s not the work. I´m used to a very heavy and hectic workload. And it´s not the travelling. My God, during the years when I travelled the most, I did over 150 days of travel - in 1 year!

It MUST be the combination of: Work - New HUGE projects - and being a mother.
Wheeey, I´m finally getting a first hand experience of the working mother-stress syndrome.

Right now on my to-do-list:

* Finding a dagis (daycare). Finding THE RIGHT dagis to apply for. I´m alreay late. I would like Robin to start in January. The most popular dagis are applied for whilst baby is in the womb. Hello? I got a LIFE!

* Finding the time to apply for Russian Visa. Tuesday morning booked for this tedious task. Check.

* Booking classes for an AMAZING friend and world famous dance-/fitness presenter who will be in town in October. I´ve started to get ball(s) in rolling, but need to settle a few details first.
You want to book this STAR to your facility, I promise, cause she´s SMOKIN´HOT!

* Finalize legal papers for MOJO. This seems to be a task that just goes ONandONandONandON, a bit like those nightmares where you run and run and run and you don´t get anywhere. (AND you´re naked....)

* Picking up keys for my new Personal Training-collaborations. I´ll be taking clients to two different places depending on what they require. I picked up one of the two sets of keys today. After I panicked and freaked out for about half a lifetime because I had forgotten that I was doing just that. Not.Good.Because.I.NORMALLY.don´t.forget.things.

Lucky my spinning class tonight didn´t just kick the members´ tiny asses. It kicked mine too - and right now, that´s just what I need - endorphins and some adrenalin to get me back into the groove of things.

A bit like amphetamines supposedly have calming effects on ADHD-sufferers.

Which is just bulls**t, give them proper food, no sugar and lots of Omega3 instead, poor kids.

Over and out.

Get down on it

MO:
Right now? A bit much. But in a good way.
Rest of the week?
More MOJO Yoga evaluations, preparing for this coming weekend´s Hot MOJO-certification, networking at Arena Göteborg´s early, early Thursday morning breakfast, classes, training and preparing.

Received my new Personal Training playthings today: Bulgarian Bag, sandbag + elastic bands.
Robin was VERY impressed...

No pressure, no diamonds

Again I'm in the Yin and Yang of life!
Haw the F..K can it be so hard to balance - and WHY do I find it so BORING to balance?!

Some morning fights and then spending 4hours with the electrician... Great guy but Oh did I have other things to do + I missed breakfast :(

Älskling I'm sorry!
It's just hard sometimes...

There's a longing for the streets of NYC in my bones!
Perhaps that's why I painted my studio pitch shiny dark blue - to feel the BIG CITY lights from the spotlights in the ceiling!
The light switches themselves cost 4000sek...

Been thinking about doing the CLEAN detox - got the book and it all makes sense!
Tried it for a couple of days and LOVED the feeling - How come then do I feel like getting a massive hangover, lack of memories and a camera with pics in it taken by strangers?!

What's up COOKIE?

I want to FEEL everything at once :)
I miss the watching eye of my teacher - the way she looks at me and there's no where to hide. The way she looks at me and I know that I can be larger than life!
I miss her look!

Mo - you are so refreshing!
U GO GIRL!
Can't wait to sit down and make our plans into physical realities :)

I can't wait to meet my students again!
Durig trainings, workshops, private sessions and regular classes!

COME AS YOU ARE!
There is no other way!

Tues - Caramel Core 0700 Hagabadet
Wed - Hot Mojo 0645, Hot Mojo 1830, BodyPump 1930 Masthugget Fitness
Thur - Global Yoga 1915 Hagabadet

News for autumn/winter 2010-11

MO:
YES, JoJo knows me too well!
Skinny yogis really doesn´t do it for me... ;)

Busy day today starting with PT-yoga in the morning (me teaching) followed by a yoga class at 9am (me teaching), PT-lifting session (me doing) with press-focus (ouch!) at 11am and then running around doing errands until my 3pm meeting with my accountant.
17.30 I taught my spinning class and then I coached a coaching session at 18.45...

Setting the new horizons for autumn/winter 2010-11.

It´s starting to come together with a few new cool projects:

* From September I will take on 10 private clients in the city.
I´ll happily train the truly dedicated men and women out there who are ready to put in the effort to have results, whether that is a more muscular body, a stronger body, a faster body, a healthier body, a more powerful body, a more flexible body, a slimmer body - with a wicked mind to go with it.
Nordic walkers need not to apply...
Anyone else can e-mail any questions/queries to monika@incycle.se

* From September (I´m hoping) I´ll have a business mentor!
Finally I´ve found her and she is AMAZING. We are meeting up in September to discuss a possible mentorship and I am SO EXCITED!

* I´m bringing Kettlebell grouptraining to Russia and one more Eastern European country (to be announced once it´s in the bag).
Weird and wicked!

* My own new training thing for the autumn will be Bulgarian Bag- and rope training. I promise to keep you posted...
By the way: training goals revisited together with Martin today....

By Christmas I´ll do:
* 10 strict pull-ups
* Pressing the 20kg KB
* 1 pistol squat (with the weight of choice)

2010/04/30

No rest for the wicked

MO:
My trainer knows how to motivate me:
"A person who manages to lift a heavy (heavier) weight with bad technique is still stronger than someone who lifts a lower weight with good technique... Your goal is to become stronger. You are stronger now. Your technique is not any better."

What doesn´t kill you....makes you sore

MO:

Love it. love it, love it!

Even if I slept extremely bad last night, maximum 4h, for the second night in a row (Robin is teething and he´s had a temperature for the last 48h) and therefore felt like roadkill when I woke up:
I did a new PR on 1RM power clean (from hang) today: 45kg!
Which is 82% of my body weight.

Ohhhh, it felt Goooood.
5 weeks to go.

I´m seeing Martin, my genius PT, twice a week for the next 3 weeks.

It´s time to up my game.

Working my weakest link...
8 weeks ago I had very poor muscle development in this area and no contact whatsoever.
Still a bit unbalanced, but looks and feels so much better now, 2 months later.

In Love with Lifting

MO:
PHEW!
Had a great session with Martin today.
Some people have been surprised when I tell them I have a personal trainer. "You? You don´t need a PT, do you???"

My opinion: You want to be the best at your game? Then you can never, ever stand still. You need to be in constant motion and always develop, always learn new tricks. Always be curious. That´s what will keep you on top, whether your profession is fitness/accounting/fishing or web design.

Sister was babysitting, so I could keep full focus on what I was doing. It was great AND I was frustrated. It was one of those sessions when I really got it highlighted to me (again) what my weaknesses are.
(My lower trapz+rhomboids, for example...)
It´s slowly getting better, though, and I´m finally starting to build some muscle mass in the area between my shoulderblades that used to be DEAD before.

It´s a shame most women are afraid to lift heavy weights. If they weren´t, so many of them would:
1. Reach their training goals faster.
2. Feel even more motivated to train - and train HARDER.
3. Look absolutely fantastic. I´m not thinking esteticaly here, I´m thinking about the empowerment it gives you to know that you are STRONG -you walk differently, stand differently and are not afraid to demand more SPACE.

I´ve fallen in ♥ with Olympic weightlifting.
So there.

.

Ouch!

MO:

My left hand got worse after today´s training session.
More filing (sandpaper nail file) and more Aloe Vera tonight.

I should probably have a day off lifting tomorrow and bring out my new kick-ass, gorgeous NIKE Lunarelite+ running shoes for a first gentle break-in instead...

Did you know you had a choice?

I LOOOVE my MO - and the way she makes me feel :)

Or should I say the way I feel when I have made the choice to spend time with her! I am THE GREATEST!

Where in your life are you settling for less than you deserve because you hadn't realized you had a choice?

The best day of your life is the one in which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. This is the day your life really begins!

Where do you use your SMART, SUPER INTELLIGENT skills to book/spend time with people who you KNOW fuels your SPIRIT? Time to make a change...? Perhaps book a PT session and live your life NOW FULLY?!

Inbetween

MO:

An inbetween day.
Tired after the weekend, but Robin wanted everything else but a sleep-in this morning, so...

I managed to steal a 25 minute powernap before my classes, which was lucky since I had a session with my PT following straight after.

Boy, did I get worked hard!

My grip strength whilst hanging on the bar is embarassingly weak. However, my deep squat with overhead press is now manageable! YES! Months and months of deep squatting in my KB-training has finally paid off!

I have clear goals where I want my strength to be in 3 1/2 months. The tougher the work, the better. Watch me fly!

2010/01/13

I'm training because...

IT MAKES ME GLOW!!!

Wow!!!
MO rocked my afternoon as she literally kicked my ass in 60min Spinning followed by a HARD CORE Kettlebell class...

But WHOPA DO I FEEL GOOD now :)

Yummey!

Remind me to MOVE my touch if I ever get cranky - PROMISE!

What's happening at the JO office...

Well - A LOT!
Yesterday I had my first session with my new COACH. I was so nervous the 24hours before our session... lots of things went through my mind...

After the session I was jumping around in my apartment bubbling with energy knowing that I was born to GROVE this planet - in so many ways JIHAA!

Haven't looked forward to doing my homework in such a long time :)

Other than that I am back to teaching my classes and privates and it feels great!

Getting ready to work the SATS crew in OSLO this weekend - NIKE DYNAMIC TRAINING coming up there as well!

Just got the dates for the next TRIP TO PARADISE!!

It will happen in MAY 5th-12th. If you missed out last time - take the leap NOW!
more info on my web JIRA
It truly is an investment and something to look forward to!

Lots and lots of LOVE from the JIRA office!

(So glad to meet some of the MOJO readers at Gymnasium this evening :))

Have a wicked one and DO dream BIG
