Ready, Steady...oh, where did everyone go?

MO:
Oh. It´s like 2011 made a false start out of the starting blocks and I sort of got left behind, waiting for the judge/referee (or whatever you call them - the ones that stand by the sideline and whistle madly when someone runs off too early) to call everyone back and re-start all over again.
Do you know what I mean?
Anyway, MyrbergBjörn has opened with a bang and I´m A) slowly getting used to being a studio owner and B) even slower at getting used to teaching a heap load of classes again.
I have two more to go tonight, 1 spinning class at Gymnasium/Elixia Sisjön and 1 Kettlebell YIN at MyrbergBjörn.
Wednesdays will be a bit mad this spring.
4 classes AND training with my PT.
But still, I did a PR in deadlifts today! 95kg. 95kg! That IS mad! 1.6 times my own body weight.
Let´s hit 2.0 before the summer.

Final Destination

May you all stay aligned with your heart's fire and use yoga as your vehicle for the journey with no return-ticket...

Two-oh-eleven

MO:
Tomorrow is the official start of 2011.
For me,
for Incycle,
and for the new MOJO.
It´s a truly exciting year ahead and right now I cannot wait to let it loose.
I must admit I felt a bit in awe and I was questioning if I was ready earlier today, but because I have such amazing people around me, the only thing I feel right now is inspiration and dedication.

Bring it on two-oh-eleven - I´m ready!

Ice PRINCESS

MO:
This was my shoe of choice for tonight, in the ice-rink that is Gothenburg right now...
Going to the Elixia kick-off, I wore my favorite to-the-knee-kick-ass-black-leather-boots:

Maybe NOT the most practical footwear at this very moment, but hey, how often do I get to wear high heels nowadays?

I LOVE P for telling me (NB: not asking) to wear flats to the bar and bring my heels in a bag.

I just don't do that kind of stuff!

In the end, I had to jokingly burst out: "Hey, are you my husband or my mum?"
Wouldn't it just have be ironic if I had fallen and broken something???
Lucky for me, I managed to both stay on my feet and look glam! Phew.

Plastic Fantastic?

MO:
I want the sun.
And the beach.
And a new lamp for our livingroom.

Problem number 1 will be solved in February.
Problem number 2 is still very much alive.

I went in to the only lamp shop in my neighborhood this afternoon.

Saw 3 lamps that I loved.
The question is: HOW on earth do I ALWAYS manage to pick out the most expensive item in the shop???

6.670:- for a piece of designed plastic??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
We´re not talking a pair of shoes here, folks!

There will obviously be darkness for yet another couple of days (weeks?).

In need of the sun.
Damn, I felt cold all day!

One of the designed goodies

The photograph REALLY does not do it any justice. It was far more tasty in reality.
But NOT for 6.670:-

It´s out there, but I loved it!

Make ROOM for 2011

MO:
It´s almost a year ago I had my two tattoos done. Time certainly moves on. I was more than convinced that those two would be my last ones, but 365 days later, I´m not so sure anymore. Maybe it IS an addiction?

Anyway, today was spent making room. Literally.
I sold more stuff on Blocket, rearranged Robin´s wardrobe, his nappy changing corner, and started to plan for the office move.
I absolutely love selling, giving, donating and throwing stuff away. For me, making room in your living quarters is more than equivalent to making more room in your life. I feel lighter, happier and more energetic afterwards.

I also had time to hit the weights.

Squats 5x5 at 85%
KB cleans 4x6 2x16kg
Bar rows 3x10 increasing weight
Pistols 3xmax on each leg
Trapz work with rubber band 3x20

I was so spent after, that I almost fell down the stairs outside the gym. Fab day!

Wiser, Smarter, Sexier at 40?

MO:
I´m back!
After several days of celebrating leaving my 30s and entering my 40s, I´ve landed on my feet! :)
It has been an absolutely wonderful time of partying, socializing, celebrating and contemplating.

The amazing thing is that it FEELS different at 40. How?
Well, the last week has been a possibility to evaluate where I am in life, what I have achieved, where I want to go and lots of other different exciting train of thoughts.

A quick run through of what I have come up with:

* If you had asked me 5 years ago, I would NEVER have thought I would be married to the love of my life AND be the mother of a phenomenal 1 1/2 year old! Get your head around that one! Sometimes change DO happen more or less immediately. So cool.

* Professionally, I am about 100% more focused now, than I was four years ago. In my 20s and early 30s I just went with the flow and tried a bunch of different jobs (mostly within health and fitness), studied, partied, travelled and I wasn´t too bothered about where I would end up. It sounds awful, but it gave me a lot of experience to help me find the focus I have today.

* Privately, I have become very good at choosing my company. As time becomes more and more precious, I get better and better at only hanging with positive, loyal gals and boys who gives you an energy boost and makes you laugh and think and LIVE, rather than to chew on the old.

* I have NEVER been so at ease and in love with my body as I am right now, at 40.
It is the coolest, most wonderful thing. My body is strong, it can run, it can jump, it can bend, it can carry a heavy Robin up the stairs without protesting and as a bonus, it looks good in a dress!

What I wished I knew at 20:

* You cannot get everyone to like you, so don´t even try, and
* Don´t spend so much time worrying about others people´s business. Make your own.
* Running can be the Bomb.
* NO - eating fat will NOT make you fat - and
* Life do NOT change overnight if you loose 10kg.
* It is true, you can never change people. They can only do it themselves.

So, am I wiser, smarter, sexier at 40? My answer is: Hell, yeah! and the best thing is, I keep learning new things every day, so imagine what it´ll be like at 50?! ;)

With a little help from my friends

MO:
Thank you thank you thank you,

JO: for an amazing energy boost this morning - ohhh, how I needed that!
My spirit was ELEVATED after our meeting. As always.

Christine: for so many laughs and such an organized IKEA run with follow up team work at MyrbergBjörn.

Jessica: for boosting SMSs and for creating such fabulous membership cards for the studio.

Camilla: for filling my body with yoga LOVE and fun.

Alana: for your company on the mat and (I´m sure) brilliant photographs.

P: for giving my trapz the treatment and attention that they so desperately needed.
(Even if I did feel like crying and even if I am such a cry baby when it comes to manipulations of the spine.) And for letting me rave on about the underlying cause.
And for yet again helping me find my true core. In more ways than one. ♥

A fu*ker of a day

MO:
I had a bit of a morning.
It started off good with a great yoga class at 9am, but then went haywire in the gym shortly after.
I was in a great mood after class, I felt strong, almost invincible. Until I tried my squat that is.
I´ve had some problems with my right shoulder for a couple of weeks. It´s my upper trapezius that´s causing some serious problems when I load a heavy bar on top of it. It feels like putting a flame of fire deep down into wounded flesh.
The pain hit me REAL bad approx. 10 minutes into my session and I felt frustrated, angry and sad.
My trapezius is the one part of my body that ALWAYS stores stress and overload.

I know I´ve balanced a tight rope this autumn but I had it all under control until that deal went sour 2 weeks ago.
(I wish I could tell you exactly what happened, but I´m not going to bring it to that level.
Let´s just say that a major player truly fucked up a mutual contract... )
This caused a serious amount of negative stress and although I´m mentally past it - my body seems to be holding a long lived grudge.

That´s life for you. Take the good with the bad.

ANYWAY, tomorrow, I´m preparing for my last weekend of work for this year - a MOJO Yoga Certification at the MyrbergBjörn studio!!! ...and participating in Camilla Bergström´s 3h yoga workshop at Kåken! Mmmmm....can´t wait! Since I missed playing with Superman last weekend, it´ll be catch up time tomorrow.
Want to join us? Check out www.christinemyrberg.com for more information - there are a few spaces left.

Sleep well, MOJOs!

I SPY with my little EYE

MO:
I´m pissed off.

This is week number 3 WITHOUT my work computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I forgot it in Siberia, but HOW difficult could it be to send it to me by DHL?
VERY difficult, it turns out.
You want to know why?
Now, make sure you sit down for this one:

It is kept on hold in Moscow, awaiting a permit that should´ve been sent weeks ago by the local security service (yes, the remains of a local KGB). The permit is necessary to release the parcel that is my laptop - because of the "possibility" that it contains a latched system inside consisting TOP SECRET classified information!

And I thought the Cold War was over???!

PLEASE send me my LAPTOP NOW!

All about CONTRAST

MO:
Back home after 4 amazing days in one of the world´s most beautiful cities.
We´ve had some tremendous weather - 20 degrees plus - + food and wine and coffee to last half a lifetime - AND we got to spend quality time together with the family.
I´m keeping my photographs for the family album. Except for these 2:

Ohhhhh...the best tasting wine I´ve had in ages...

Why Italians have more fun...

Where is your heart?

MO:
HOME is always where the HEART is.

My giddy josh it´s nice to be home... and although today has been more than full on, I feel great!

Hanging with my family, PT-clients, shopping, booking meetings and planning the next couple of weeks have kept me busy, smiling and happy.

It´s a great thing going away - because coming home your life tastes even sweeter.
Tomorrow, there´s yoga, power lifting, meetings and spinning.

Bring it on Wednesday!

My life in pictures

MO:
Let´s just say this: My life is going well. In many areas. Not so well in others. Guess which?....

Kitchen/Office

Dining room table

Robin´s plaything box... please note the Marie Claire found in the middle of it...

After being so stressed over the MESS in my house, it was nice to meet gorgeous Christine with her Belstaff computer case - lovely!

This BRIGHTENS ME

Oh, you're going to laugh alright, Johanna, but not just at the funny clothes you wore, or how naïve you thought the animals were, or by the unrecognized angels in your midst. But at how close you were when you thought yourself far, how much more strength you had when you thought yourself weak, and how easy life was when you thought it hard.

I mean, come on, Johanna, even the animals know who the angels are, and they wouldn't dream of wearing polyester.

Hihihihi I can't stop smiling reading a note like this!!!

It's such a beautiful day outside!!!

CATCH IT - LOVE IT - LICK IT ;)

LOVE
Jo

Grrrr....

MO:

If 20% of your clients generate 80% of your profit, then 0.5% of your customers easily cause you 99.5% of your troubles and worries.

The ABSOLUTE majority of all my clients/customers/businesses are SWELL,
they pay their invoices on time,
they are lovely and respectful on the phone/by email,
and are generally extremely nice people.

I am Goddamn lucky to work with so many dedicated and loyal human beings.

Then there´s the other 0.5%.

Let´s just say this: In business, DON´T F**K WITH MY CHI,
because I will get you right back and not double or triple, but at least quadruple the amount of negative stress and worry you have caused me.

Late this afternoon one of those moments presented themselves, and you know the worst thing of all?

I KNEW this one would cause trouble - right from the start - but somehow, I thought: "Oh, but maybe they´ll see some sense over time and change"...
Note to one self: VERY rarely (read: never) does an asshole change from being an asshole to becoming a sweet elf, one day to another.

An asshole, is an asshole, is an asshole, and so be it.

Don´t worry - I won´t sweat it. I already feel better.
But do not be mistaken - I am EXTREMELY long sighted and there is nothing wrong with my excellent memory. What goes around comes around.

A day in the life

MO:
After a looooooong sleep (can´t even tell you HOW long), we had a quite relaxing day, with voting, walking and cinema.
I used to be a party princess but that was YEARS ago. Now, it takes days for my body to recover from yummy cranberry coloured drinks...

Need to stay up late tonight to get rid of some admin work.

With my voting card ready.

BTW: Sweden 2010. We all have at least one person in our proximity that voted SD today. And most of the time we don´t even know WHO that person is, but he or she made the conscious choice to give their vote to a party that stems from "Bevara Sverige Svenskt".
I don´t even know what to say or where to start, but it´s a sad, sad day for Sweden and a frightening prospect for the future.
