Make ROOM for 2011

MO:
It´s almost a year ago I had my two tattoos done. Time certainly moves on. I was more than convinced that those two would be my last ones, but 365 days later, I´m not so sure anymore. Maybe it IS an addiction?

Anyway, today was spent making room. Literally.
I sold more stuff on Blocket, rearranged Robin´s wardrobe, his nappy changing corner, and started to plan for the office move.
I absolutely love selling, giving, donating and throwing stuff away. For me, making room in your living quarters is more than equivalent to making more room in your life. I feel lighter, happier and more energetic afterwards.

I also had time to hit the weights.

Squats 5x5 at 85%
KB cleans 4x6 2x16kg
Bar rows 3x10 increasing weight
Pistols 3xmax on each leg
Trapz work with rubber band 3x20

I was so spent after, that I almost fell down the stairs outside the gym. Fab day!

Finally

MO:
Had a tough day after yet another night of bad sleep.
Thankfully, filling the day with energizing students, lovely friends (thanks C & JOJO!) and my rockin´PT, more than helped to get me through my waking hours.

I´ve reached one of my part goals with the lifting. I´ve started to even out the MAJOR differences between my left and right trapezius and rhomboids. Details, details some might think, but I know what such an imbalance can do to the rest of the body, both in everyday life but also in your training. If you saw the clip I uploaded a couple of months ago, you will really be able to tell the difference in my back in today´s mini-movie.

We filmed the new Hot MOJO sequence this afternoon. O.M.G it will ROCK da HOUSE!
I´m very proud of both the new Hot series, but also LOVE the new MOJO Yoga - which will reach clubs in January 2011!

Tomorrow: Robin and admin work. If I in any way could persuade my 1 1/2 year old that a lie in is the new black, I´d be extatic. Good luck with that.

REALITY check

MO:
- snatches
- front squats
- skaters squats
- military presses
- chins
in the gym,
MOJO Yoga before the gym session and 60 min Wednesday spinning tonight - all with 90 minutes of yoga NY style already causing musle twitches all over my body... You could say I'm slightly sore...
AND I´ve got a private with David again tomorrow morning.
Wish me luck.

MyrbergBjörn business card. Wow. It´s happening soon.

Chaotic order

MO:
A day of chaos.
Good chaos in the morning - less good chaos in the afternoon.
Did PR in squats this morning and pushed 72.5kg on the bar. With more to give. YES!
Consistent work for 11 months is starting to pay off - and that´s on ONE good quality session a week! Imagine what could be done if I could squeeze only one more good lifting session into my schedule...?

The afternoon caused havoc in my work department. One of my projects seems to live a life of its own-and not in a good way. It will take some thinking through tonight to make some kind of decision to either hold on or to let go. Should I cut my losses now and loose what I have already put in, or should I stay and hopefully at least get my (financial) investment back?
Difficult decision.

In the evening, I decided to dedicate the energy of tonight´s spinning class to B. It happened quite spontaneously and wasn´t planned.

B is a true regular of mine. I´ve seen him for 2h every week for the last 4 years or so.

I know what he works with, I know his wife, I´ve followed the career of his kids, I´ve heard about their holidays, and I´ve seen him push and work and grow and sweat and passionately GIVE and exert himself week after week, month after month, year after year.

Hell, you know some of your clients for a lot longer than the life expectancy of the average marriage and you see them more often and more regularly than you hook up with most of your friends and even some of your family members!
No wonder you get shaken when something bad happens to one of them.

On Sunday, B passed out - at home in his garden - and was rushed to hospital.
Turns out he carries a very unwanted, horrible visitor. A malignant brain tumour that needs immediate removal.
I spoke to him on the phone earlier today to wish him well before his surgery.

B - my thoughts go out to you and your family. Come back soon.
Your bike and your bell will be waiting for you.

A Saturday in October...

MO:
My body is starting to feel it.

Yesterday consisted of a high reps session:

Pull-ups 5x10 (3 breaths in between each rep, resting on step)
Row with bar 4xmax reps 35kg
Overhead squats 5x10 20kg
Hanging knee lifts 5x10
TRX Facepulls 3x15

Did some kettlebell training this afternoon to ease off the lurking training soreness, a total of:

100 swings 16kg
108 cleans 16kg
80 snatches 12kg

followed by 15 min of yoga...

Now: a movie and a beer. So there.

Being unfaithful

MO:
I wrote in my Twitter today:

"I´m so in LOVE with strength training right now,
that even doing yoga make me feel unfaithful..."

Strange, since yoga was my first love out of the two.

I desperately needed this morning´s session with power cleans, military presses, deadlifts and pull-ups. After a crazy four days of spinning galore in Trondheim and a week of work + "only" group training classes in Djerba, my body was craving some heavy weights.
That´s addiction for you.

I topped the day off with a 6-peak-intervall class at 17.30.
Wonderful crowd and more or less all my regulars were present.

I´ll miss them next week, when, instead of sitting on my bike, I´ll be on my 17h+ journey going to SIBERIA for 6 days. Somebody do something... I MUST be mad.

Back on Track

MO:
I love yoga.
I love motorcycles.
What could be better than this combination, that I found outside the gym tonight?

More content in this post after dinner, I´ll be back!

21.24
I cannot believe that autumn is here already!
Well, maybe not autumn as such, but since I´ve started working this week, it´s all the same.
Summer now feels like a distant dream and ahead of me lies an amazingly busy (but FUN!) action packed end of season.

For the next few months, amongst other things, I´ll be lecturing, educating, teaching, travelling, presenting at The Academy´s event, starting new MEGA-EXCITING projects with JO, taking on personal training clients, teaching at NIKE Denmark, doing a running workshop, going to Djerba, teaching kettlebell in Russia (Siberia to be exact), deadlifting 100kg (I did 90kg on Monday!!!), going to Romania, teaching at the Convention, spreading the word of MOJO and Hot MOJO Yoga and....phew! Sleeping?
peace

What friends are for...

MO:
WHAT a start of the DAY!
After having weird difficulties falling asleep last night, I got up at 1am to evaluate yoga DVDs until 3.15am...Finally fell asleep around 4am....
The alarm went off at 7.00 and believe it or not, I managed to have a SMASHING beginning of the day, much thanks to superstar JO!

30 minutes of: Squats - deadlifts - rows - and overhead squats, followed by heavier squats and deadlifts.
1h of yoga,
and THEN a hilariously hard session consisting of Bulgarian Bags/Rope and bungy-running.

Big heads up to Björn Gebenius from FORM Visby, who brought ALL his play things the whole way from Gotland! Now, that´s what I call dedication!

Looking forward to sweat it out for real this Friday with Björn, Christine and JoJo.

Friends are for support, training, sweating, shopping, planning,
brainstorming, drinking coffee, giggling, gossiping
and of course: hugging!
(amongst other things)

Met up with another tiger for coffee straight after the workout.
Now more tidying and Gosh, emptying the last wardrobes for shoes, handbags and clothes going on SALE on Saturday...
Enjoy the day, darlings!

Thank you Anna (the coolest, not to mention STRONGEST pole dancing cat in a pair of heels) for the inspiration!

1.5 times my bodyweight is 85,5kg and twice my body weight is 114kg.

Say no more. I think you know where I´m heading...

Pssst...It´s a secret...

MO:
Except from JOJOs amazing new space, there will be another exciting new venture opening up come September. One that will be able to offer ALL the things I´ve been missing in a training environment in Gothenburg so far...
BUT, it´s a bit of a secret for another few weeks, so don´t go telling anyone...

A.M

MO:

I´ve found myself wondering several times over the last 11 months what I did with my training A.M (Anno Motherhood).
The time of your life when you have no one else to look after but yourself.
You have time in the morning.
You have time at lunch.
You have zillion of hours in the evening.
Sometimes you have full DAYS.
The difference is ginormous when you become a parent.

If I want to do morning training I have to wip myself out of bed before 7am to get a session in before P gets to work.
If I want to train at lunchtime I have 2 choices: go running with the buggy or wait for Robin to fall asleep and get a kettlebell session in.
If I want to train in the evening, it´s on borrowed family time. P doesn´t mind, but I try not to do too much evening training, since
I´m still travelling a lot at the weekends.

So, how to stay fit and how to stay on top being a toddler mum???
My runs have become shorter (but faster).
My gym sessions have become more focused and more structured.
I´ve stopped trying to do everything with the same priority. Now, each term will get its own special focus. I still crosstrain, but I allow myself to focus on fewer things.
I´d planned to do more of a yoga focus during the second half of the year, but I´m still heavily in love with lifting, so we´ll see...

The absolute guru of Olympic Weightlifting, Greg Everett is coming to Copenhagen in August and I would LOVE to do his course. It´s sold out at the moment (not surprised), and I´m booked for work in Stockholm during the same dates...
However, if this love of lifting lasts, I´ll make sure to bring P with me to visit his facility next time we´re in the States.
